Guide to buying in Mallorca

It is always best to deal with an experienced and reliable property agent who speaks the same language and allow him or her to guide you and to use other professionals who have a good and clear understanding of your requirements. Should you require a mortgage (subject to status) we would also be able to help you with this.

There are several excellent English speaking solicitors with offices in Mallorca who will assist you in your purchase.

As with purchasing property in the UK there are taxes, lawyers, notary fees to pay. In Spain/Mallorca you need to allow approximately an extra 12% to be added to the purchase price which should cover all costs of local government and town hall taxes and other charges including Land Registry fees.
